Doctor of medicine, public health specialist, epidemiologist. His main subjects of scientific research are the risk factors of cardiovascular diseases, dementia-related diseases, diabetes, breast and large intestine tumours as well as development of scientific research methodology and use of IT in doctor training and improvement of healthcare. Participant and co-ordinator of various scientific projects, worked in advisory teams for, amongst others, scientific associations, local governments, the Ministry of Health, the European Commission and the World Bank.
Since November 2017, President of the Agency for the Assessment of Medical Technologies and Tariff Setting.
