Adam Maciejczyk MD, Ph.D.

Director of the Lower Silesian Oncology Centre in Wrocław

Adam Maciejczyk MD, Ph.D.is an oncologist, specialist in oncological radiotherapy and director of the Lower Silesian Oncology Centre, head of the Radiotherapy Clinic of the Medical University in Wrocław, Chairman of the Main Board of the Polish Oncological Society.

He specialises in the treatment of childhood cancers. He holds the post of the reference radiotherapist in Poland in the treatment of soft tissue sarcomas in children and is a member of the Main Board of the Polish Society of Oncological Radiotherapy (PTRO) and a coordinator of the Paediatric Radiotherapy Section at the Polish Paediatric Solid Tumours Group.

Initiator of the report ‘Economic losses and cost of treatment of eight selected cancers in the Lower Silesian Voivodship in 2014-2016. Conclusions for healthcare policy’. He participated in the works of the team appointed by the Minister of Health, who developed the concept of the National Oncological Network.

Since 2018, he has been a member of the Transparency Council of the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Tariff System . Member of the National Oncology Council on behalf of the Polish Oncological Society, as well as the Scientific Council of the Maria Sklodowska-Curie Institute – Oncology Centre in Warsaw and the president of the National Association of Public Oncology Centres and Institutes.

He completed a clinical internship at the Gustave Roussy Institute in Paris (2003) and a clinical and scientific internship at MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Huston, USA (2006).
He is a member of the European Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology (ESTRO) and the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO).
